When Leo Szillard put the concept of a nuclear chain reaction to Einstein, Einstein was take aback. He'd been convinced that releasing energy from splitting an atom was nigh impossible. He hadn't considered the secondary effect of released particles.
The same might be said of the failure to understand the secondary effect of a social enterprise re-investing to fund other social enterprises. To be more accurate in this analogy,it would be as if Einstein had held his hands over his ears. ,
